BAKE OFF BISCUIT WEEK – LEMON SHORTBREAD with Denby

Here’s our easy and deliciously light lemon shortbread recipe Bake on a Denby baking tray and perfect to enjoy with a cup of tea in a stylish Denby mug.


Method

1.Preheat your oven to 130/150C/Gas Mark 2 and grease your baking tray.

2.Put the butter into a bowl and beat with a wooden spoon until it’s soft.

3.Add both the caster sugar and lemon zest to the bowl and mix.

4.Stir in the flour then use your hands to form a soft dough.

5.Roll out onto a smooth surface and use the bottom of a decorative tumbler to create the pattern.

6.Next use a round cutter to create the biscuits.

7.Transfer these onto your tray and bake for around 40 minutes until they turn a pale gold colour.

8.Leave to cool then dust some remaining caster sugar onto the shortbread to serve.
